All signs point to the MOBOs

MOBO Freestanding Logo

Year after year, I’ve sat at home watching the MOBO awards from my sofa, seeing the likes of Rihanna, Mary J Blige and Craig David perform or win awards. Well this year not only did PPS design and print graphics for the VIP reception, we also attended the award ceremony and walked the red carpet!

Mark Jackson, the owner of Passion4Events in Preston, has been a MOBO Partner for 6 years and this year Mark came to us to brand the VIP area in Leeds. Mark was looking for a glamorous and customised solution for the reception area, which hosted just under 1,000 guests, to compliment his booths, bars and dancers.

Our graphic designer Lauren, quickly got to work on the design of various podiums and coffee table cubes. We worked closely with the Passion4Events team to ensure we produced truly unique and quality solutions for the brief.

Our production team then got to work when the designs were signed off. The plinths were cut from mirrored gold dibond, and routed to wrap around a frame. These were then branded up with print and cut vinyls and black 5mm acrylic tabletops, raised off with black spacers.

Getting in the MOBO spirit, we also produced some freestanding MOBO cut-out signs. These were printed on our flatbed printer, cut out on our router and attached to bases.

With all the graphics complete; it was now time to head to Leeds to get ready for the big night! Mark, his team and I arrived on the red carpet, feeling like celebrities we worked the cameras then enjoyed some champagne in the VIP reception. The area had been completely MOBO transformed by the graphics and a standing 15ft x 6ft fully bespoke MOBO logo, with effects projected onto it by Motion Mapping.

When the ceremony ended, we headed over to the after-party at The Queens Hotel to continue the celebrations. It was fantastic to be involved in such an exciting project (and meet some celebs!). We pride ourselves on our bespoke work for our customers, making their idea a reality through graphics and signage.
